Is the Star Citizen team changing or customizing certain aspects of CryEngine, or does it work out of the box for everything that is planned for the game?asked by Ravenhurst

While the CryEngine is very impressive, it was designed mostly for a first-person shooter. So we're doing a significant amount of customization for Star Citizen because we have bigger universes, we have a lot more places to go. And you would have to do that with any engine. You're going to have to customize for your particular game. So yes, customization is definitely going on. And we're lucky to have the support of the Crytek team as we do this. Incredibly important.
