Has there been any progress on how sounds will change over distance in different environments, such as a gunshot heard from the perspective of the person firing at the top of a canyon, or someone right next to them, versus the sound the target hears down inside the canyon?

Yeah, this ties into the propagation tech that I was talking about before. So in that instance, once this tech is ready, that sound will pick up the effects as it travels. So the sound happening on the top of a canyon will pick up appropriate reflections for that area, and then it will travel down into the bottom of the canyon, and it will have those effects applied as well. So if you're stood next to it, you're going to pretty much hear just the sound of it on the top. But if you have the listener down in the canyon, you're going to hear the accumulated effects of that sound traveling.
