Will the map pinpoint markers that we drop be persistent if we log out and log back in the next day?
TL;DRPersistent map pins are definitely the plan, but the back-end work is very hard, especially with server meshing coming, so they were not done yet, though the team is still working on it.
That's definitely the plan, yeah. But there's a lot of back-end work that we need to look into, and especially with server meshing coming in. So a thing that happened for the 3.23 work that we've been doing is that we started talking about, okay, we want to get these pins in as part of the star map now, and you should be able to place them and share them with people and all of that jazz. Then we looked into it and, well, it was quite hard to do and we're getting server meshing. So everything's going to change and it just wouldn't work with the future.
The technical challenge is immense. The pin itself, drawing a pin on the map, fine. Persisting it in this sort of super complicated structure that we have is tricky, tricky to say the least.
That's not to say we won't work on it.
