Can you steal from shops?
TL;DRTony Zurovec likes the idea of stealing from shops, but Chris Roberts says stealing from registers probably won't be implemented since there's no physical money, though other theft is possible.
Yeah, actually that's very high on the list and it's part of the reason why I like that concept of this level of gray as opposed to a Boolean. Again, you always have to simplify for a relatively brief discussion like this, but I love the concept of having cameras within a bar and you have a bartender, and basically every time he winds up doing a transaction with a customer, $10 is deposited into his cash register. If you're a clever enough player to distract the bartender and ensure that his security camera, which basically rotates, is not actually focused on the cash register at the time you try to operate it, you can wind up making money.
That may be a bad example since we're in a future world where everything's electronic and cashless. Even in today's world, most bars want to use credit cards because it's hard to steal from them. I guess all I'm saying is it's not going to be a cash-based business in the future.
It's another kind of mini-game.
I would think that you would have the opportunity to steal some stuff. I was just saying, I don't think stealing from the register is necessarily one thing we'll implement. We don't have physical money in the game.
Guns, muggings, you name it.
