Who controls the currency in our universe? If it is the UEE, what does a pirate buy or sell things in if they're wanted?
TL;DRA wanted pirate could probably still use currency, which likely is detached from governments; the limit is where stolen goods can be sold, and a piracy design post is planned.
If a pirate's wanted? I mean, just because they're wanted, they can still use the currency.
So they're not blocked? Because in the U.S., if you're a wanted terrorist, they shut your accounts down and you can't use anything.
And yet a terrorist can still go to the local 7-Eleven with dollars and transact perfectly fine. If Bitcoin is still around, you will have an anonymous currency.
Anyway, the question asked for me, I thought it was a good question. I'm teasing Tony, we'll figure out the best answer for it. But my guess is that you will detach the currency and the transactional process of that away from any government because it has to be also something that you can trade between races.
What I would say is basically your transactions on things that have been stolen, it's limited by where you can sell as opposed to the currency in which you're going to conduct that transaction. You shouldn't be able to go to the TDD on ArcCorp and actually unload all of your stolen material. You should have to actually traipse two systems over, find a less reputable space station or planet where they're much less concerned with law and rules and regulations, and that's where you would actually unload that type of stuff.
