Can a good spaceship look bad? I mean, can a good-looking spaceship be a bad-looking spaceship?
TL;DRA good ship can look ugly or brutal if its looks follow its function, but each manufacturer should keep a recognisable identity, with sleekness suited to role, such as workhorses versus fighters.
It can be ugly, in a sense, right? Brutal industrial, right? I think that can be iconic. That can look good, right? I think it's led by its function, isn't it?
If you've got something that is a big workhorse, an Argo ship, you don't expect it to be super sleek and organic. Whereas if you've got something that's a fighter or something that's like a racing ship or something, you want it to look sleek and feel believable.
Do you feel like you want the ship to have a character, like an identity that's very obvious when you look at it?
I feel when it comes to our project, it's really important that our manufacturers don't merge into one. Our manufacturers have their identity. And then within that, you've got a subclass of what the functionality is. If we were doing, like I say, an industrial ship that was made by Origin, you wouldn't expect it to be like an 890 with a laser beam in front of it. But you would immediately want to recognise its Origin still. It's fine for it to be industrial, civilian, combat, all having a very obvious direction that the visuals go, but at the same time you still want all of the manufacturers to immediately be recognisable from each other.
