Any information on a potential pass on the Greycat buggy, additional damage states, etc.?
TL;DRThe Greycat currently has only old-style damage and would need UV2s and redesign for new damage states; no pass is promised, and it can't yet be spawned in the Persistent Universe.
People are going to load up their Greycat buggies in their ships and take them down planetside. So do you have to do damage states for a Greycat?
It would definitely need UV2s at the very least. Don't know about...
They don't currently. It's totally old-style damage, if anything. I don't know if anything falls off this ship. I don't think it breaks apart.
It just kind of explodes in a fireball.
That's how it works in Arena Commander right now.
That doesn't mean I can't burn and melt through it, but I don't think there would be much sort of interesting geo to actually fly off it. But I mean, UV2s and then set that up, change the damage shader and get that activated. Blah, blah, blah.
We would need to steal an artist or do it ourselves, where we put the internals into a structure. So once you kind of see into the body, you can see something.
That's part of the thing we come across: a lot of the older ships, when we're doing damage conversions, they didn't have really much space between the exterior and the interior, so you couldn't really fit cool mechanical structures between the body. You couldn't even fit sometimes a plane that shows the sort of damage POM. So as these ships are being redesigned for the new damage systems, all that stuff is being taken into account, so maybe the Greycat.
Well, as of right now, you can't actually spawn a Greycat in the Persistent Universe, so I think that has to come first.
