With environment art, where it's more the space around you and not necessarily gameplay stuff, is there room for community feedback?
TL;DRCommunity feedback on environment art is possible and welcome, and reassuring when it agrees, but the team makes the final decision; community-spotted errors like a leftover scale reference can be removed.
Probably. You could feed back on anything if you wanted, but the decision lies with us at the end of the day, whether we go for it or not. Don't get me wrong, it's great to hear when people record videos and they talk about the architecture of the game and how it would actually work in our world. That's super positive for us, because it's kind of like, oh yeah, we thought this looked right ourselves and felt right. But to see that the community also agrees with us kind of helps that feeling that, oh, we are doing this thing right. Let's just keep going with it. Obviously, if there's something, well, hopefully nothing will get into the game that is really wrong. I'm pretty sure there was a 10-foot scale ref guy outside of Lorville recently. So yeah, that's obviously not great.
Scale ref is the thing that you put in while you're working. And somebody left it in.
Someone left it in and scaled up for some reason. So the scale reference wasn't even the right scale. But the community highlighted that to us, and that's great. So we are able to then go in and remove that thing.
