Compared to the number of PvE missions, there are very few PvP missions. Can we expect to see any PvP missions in the future?asked by Xperia
TL;DRDirect PvP missions are hard since they need two players wanting the same thing, so they instead create risk-versus-reward situations and open areas where players may choose to fight.
Yeah, PvP missions in our game are a bit more of a challenge to do because it always relies on two people wanting to do the same thing. So what we try to do instead is not give you an objective that's directly like "kill Ed"; instead we put you in a sort of mission flow that has parts of vulnerability where the player can do these sorts of acts. For example, Jumptown: we only want you to deliver Maze. Whatever bloodthirsty murdering you do is strictly on you as a person and your choice there.
Exactly. And that's fine.
So our intention is to put you in a situation that allows you to take advantage and think, right, well, if I kill this person, I could come out on top, the risk versus reward. So that's the sort of thing we're trying to do. Jumptown, Kareah; we have other things in the pipeline that are going to also try to pull this sort of gameplay in, with the new resource rush stuff, the asteroid mining we've talked about. That is an open area where people will go in and fight, same sort of thing. We're not going to tell you to kill anyone, but if you want the high profits, you're probably going to do it.
And then there's always the classic: one mission to one group of people that says go here and do the thing, and then a mission to another group of people that says maybe go to the same place and do something else.
If it was a delivery mission and we sent you after the same box, both of you, one of you is going to win.
