What are their thoughts about PvP missions?
TL;DRThey like PvP missions and alternate between PvP and PvE ones, though they admit they don't make clear enough which missions are PvP and want players aware of the risk.
They're great and they love them. Luke says that right now, it's nice to pit Players against each other, considering that their AI is still being developed. He doesn't think that they do a good enough job of making it clear which missions are PvP missions though, and that they need to make sure that Players aren't lulled into thinking a PvP mission is a PvE mission, but at the same time PvP is always possible in SC so there's nothing stopping a Player from being attacked by another Player regardless of missions. He gives an example of missions involving derelict ships, and how they're designed to bring Players together, which can result in a standoff as the Players figure out whether the other is hostile, or what to do with regards to the other Player. He goes on to say that they can't prevent PvP, and when they encourage it that should also involve making Players aware of the risk involved. He concludes by saying that they like PvP missions, they're not avoiding creating them, and they're also not relying on them too heavily - they typically cycle between creating a PvP mission, then a PvE mission, and then back to PvP and so on.
