Will the game get realistic snow weather that is not identical to dust storms? For instance, the dust particles on Hurston appear to be the same as on microTech, just with a different color.
TL;DRThe ground effect system could already support different kicked-up snow effects per surface type, but full snow weather is on the internal roadmap with no timeline and would be a bespoke effect.
So two parts to the answer. One is I don't know if the dust particles are literally the same particles in the two examples there. They might be the same. They might be different. The tech is there already for them to be different. We have quite a complicated ground effect system. It's not strictly speaking weather. It's the wind kicking up whatever is on the ground. So if there's snow on the ground and there's a lot of wind, it will kick the snow up. We already have the ability to do different effects per, we call it surface type, each type of material on the ground. So that, in effect, could be done now. It's more of an asset VFX type question for the art teams. However, to get to probably the real answer, it's not snow. It's snow being kicked up in a blizzard, basically. To get strong winds, to get full-on snow, full-on weather, that's something different. And it is on our internal roadmap. And I think a lot of people are quite excited to get onto that. But I don't have a timeline I can share on that at the moment. But yeah, clearly, when we implement full-on weather, that will be a bespoke effect. Snow does not look like dust. It has a very specific look. And you'd expect rain and all the other types of weather, hail or whatever. So yeah, it's on there. It will be coming one day, but not today.
