What is the next tech preview?
TL;DREngineering gameplay is the next tech preview, following the base one; the intention is to release it before year end, but there is no guarantee, and players are encouraged to join.
Well, so what's behind this, this enables us to bring in... I'm going to go back to streaming just to build the excitement. No, I'm joking. So off of our main technology stream is another feature that's been built there that needs all of this to work, and that's the engineering gameplay tech preview. That's right behind it. So the moment we can bring in the base tech preview changes, then we'll be able to run the next testing on engineering gameplay straight off of that patch. So that's going to be super interesting.
When this is done and gets fully integrated, goes to live and whatnot, the next thing is engineering. We desperately want this tech preview with engineering out before the end of the year. Now, this is the middle of September. There's still October, November, December. That's still a lot of time. It's not anything anybody would say is soon. And there's no guarantee that we're even going to hit it. Me saying it's our intention to get this before the end of the year is not the same as saying it will come before the end of the year, but it is everybody's desperate intention to get this thing into Tech Preview at the end of the year.
Hey, but on this, I got a little segue for you. So there's one thing that kind of proves the improvements on the live service: there's a lot less players on PTU and a lot less players on tech previews than before, which is a good thing, right? That means players want to play the real game and I'm really happy about that, but it does mean, if you want to help, join those tech previews, right? The more people we get, even if it's for a short period of time, it's really helpful because we get a larger set of people that can try it out and that gives us more data.
