Will we be able to fly through clouds and create swirls? As ships pass through, do you think we'll be able to disperse those clouds?
TL;DRClouds are handled by the graphics team, not VFX; the VFX artists would like cloud swirls but say a real cloud couldn't be dispersed and it would need faked particles, with no commitment.
This kind of question should be asked of the graphics guys, as those kind of complex systems, such as clouds or, let's just say, auroras on the planet, those things are handled by the graphics team. They are using completely different technology, which should be very efficient, very generic, and we are not handling those super generic systems.
Yeah, but I think also, I mean, we've been looking at those videos. We think it's one of the coolest things to see, like the swirling after helicopters.
That would be super cool to have.
But I think we would probably... It could never be that an actual cloud gets turned into smaller wisps. It has to be some kind of smoke and mirrors situation where we might fade away the cloud and then spawn particles that make it look like that's what's happening.
That's definitely a very complex and great challenge.
Yeah, so basically we want to do that, but the question is... We'll see what the future brings.
