What was your job in the spring of 2012?
Forrest Stephan · Principal Technical Artist

My job was anything and everything. If it needed to be lit, I would light it. If there needed to be particles, I'd do some particles. If I needed to optimize an asset, optimize an asset. If I needed to make an asset, I would make an asset. We had a pretty clear vision of what Chris wanted to do for the initial crowdfunding campaign, but we didn't have funding yet. And I was young and I was cheap, and I would do anything to work on a project like this. Chris asked me if I was willing to work on it. I knew how to do some things, as an environment artist. But he's like, 'Hey, do you know how to light? Do you know how to do this? Do you know how to do that?' And I was like, 'Yeah, of course I do. I can do all that. Yeah, no problem.' He goes, 'All right, you're hired.' And then I got off the phone and I just started Googling YouTube on how to do all these things.
