Why is ammo linked specifically to the guns and not the overall turret? Something like the poor Hammerhead is going to have 20 or 24 guns around it.

This is just because we can't do it any other way at the moment. But this comes back to the question we had before. We'll talk about these things in 3.14. But specifically for that reason, we swapped out most of the loadouts of the ships to have at least 50% energy weapons. And only a fraction of them actually have ballistic weaponry on board. But yeah, obviously that is the case. If I'm flying in a huge capital ship, then of course it makes more sense if we can dish out a lot more ballistic rounds.

To be clear, when we say we can't do it, it just means that the system right now needs reworking to do that. And for this release, we lacked the time to actually do that.
