Vulkan and NVIDIA driver issues: players who are using Vulkan with the latest NVIDIA drivers are reporting graphical artifacts and crashes. Overall, what can you tell us about what's happening with Vulkan and the NVIDIA drivers?

TL;DRThe cause is still being investigated, but the team suspects a specific recent NVIDIA Vulkan driver version, so downgrading drivers probably helps, and other games reportedly show the same issue.

Well, so we're still investigating the cause, but for now, right, we think it's related to a specific driver version from NVIDIA, related to the upgrades for the 5090 cards. So we're not quite sure exactly, but when you update your NVIDIA drivers, there are two drivers, one for Direct3D and one for Vulkan. It doesn't look like it, but there are two. And so we think that there's an issue related to the latest version of the driver for Vulkan specifically. And so you could downgrade your drivers and it probably solves the issue in the meantime. But we're still investigating to make sure it's completely not related to this. But other games are also having the same issue.

Yeah, there was one or two drivers ago where I saw somebody, they had glowing heads. All the character heads were glowing, and they were on Vulkan.

We don't think it's a third-party app in this case, though. You do need to be careful with third-party apps that inject into the 3D pipeline, for multiple reasons, one of them being that the EAC sandbox can catch it, but also because they can cause GPU crashes.
