Would it be possible to add a windowed borderless mode to the graphics settings? It vastly improves quality of life for multi-monitor users, who are a fairly substantial part of the player base.

TL;DRA borderless window mode exists but is limited to the main monitor's resolution; fixing multi-monitor spanning and resolution scaling is high priority after Gen12, with no exact time frame given.

So we already support a borderless window mode, but I gather, because they've talked about multi-monitor, they're probably meaning that I think it centers onto your main monitor at the moment and it locks to the resolution of your center monitor. So you can't drag it out to span two or three monitors and customize the resolution. Say if you've got three 4K monitors, maybe you don't want to run at 12K, unless you've got a monster GPU. So yeah, definitely. It's a bit of an embarrassment we haven't quite got to that yet. That's definitely something that's very high on our priority list to fix as soon as Gen12 is done. So resolution scaling, and then picking the size of the window and letting you move it around. Yeah, definitely.

There is some version of it there, but it doesn't have the features that a lot of people expected to have.

And internally, we already have the resolution scaling, which is one aspect of it that people have been asking for as well. But that doesn't quite work with our UI yet, so there's just a few bugs there. And then changing the size of it shouldn't be a complicated issue. So yeah, I can't give an exact time frame, but we'll definitely be looking at that very soon.

I tend to play almost everything in windowed borderless because I need to switch over to Teams or email or something on another monitor very easily, because in the middle of the day, CR will ping me or something. I always have to keep an eye on the left screen while I'm playing on the middle. So windowed borderless makes that experience a lot easier for me.

There can be some quite technical differences between when you run full-screen borderless and exclusive full screen. It depends on lots and lots of factors. But there are potentially changes in performance. It depends on your system; either could be faster. And there's also changes in the latency as well. Generally, full-screen exclusive is less latency. But yeah, it's a pain when you're getting messaged by someone in Discord or something and you want to alt-tab out.
