TL;DRLore retcons will probably be handled case by case as systems are built, keeping each system's original spirit while walking back the assumption that planets couldn't be landed on.
Hi @Kenge84, it will probably be on a case-by-case basis. Pretty much as we actually start building out the specific systems and incorporate what we've learned thus far as far as gameplay and tech advances, we'll probably be adjusting the lore of the systems to accommodate. The goal is to still keep to the original spirit of the tone/character of the system (so it's not a total retcon), but to make it fun. It's also important to note, which Rich brought up in the final CitizenCon presentation, the original lore for all the systems was built around the idea that you wouldn't be able to land on the planets, so hence why there's an overwhelming amount of thoroughly toxic planets or mined out husks. We were trying to make it sound unappealing to land there, but as we're now able to explore them, we're probably going to be walking that back a bit. But again, it will probably be on a case-by-case basis.
