Back when we began this project, we published a series of Lore Builder kits to help fans develop their own lore. Is there anything for fanfic writers?
TL;DRThe Writer's Guide still broadly holds up for fanfic writers but is overdue for an update pass, and no new fanfic-specific kits are announced.
Lore Builders was another feature we did, where we were more sourcing stuff with the community. SataBall was a big thing that came out of that.
The Writer's Guide, we have to do a pass, and it's been one of those tasks that I've been shuffling around for a year now, of having to just sit down and finally go through and bring it up to speed.
It's mostly still there. The flavor of it has really still been the core guiding principle. I still refer back to the Writer's Guide in my weekly writing, and it's really impressive how well it's maintained, but there's a couple more detailed little facts that...
It hits the broad strokes. So if you're looking for a resource, it's probably a good place to go. The Banu stuff, the alien culture stuff, we've dove a lot deeper into, but the broad-stroke things, and even how to approach them, writing them as characters, still kind of hold true.
If someone wants to be nice and include a link to the Writer's Guide in the chat, go for it. Or we could throw it in the description.
