[The blood, sweat and tears tech, like the nosebleed at the end of the StarEngine demo:] are things like that just for NPCs, or is that intended to come to players?

TL;DRSean Tracy says blood and injury effects are intended for players too, though how far the gore should go is still an open question.

No, it's intended for players, absolutely. And the work on it is way more gory than I would have expected. It was actually so uncomfortable. Story time. We were doing a little bit of work on that system before. I had shown what a face looks like. Okay, so I made a little video with Dexter music, and I had a knife in the game, and I sliced the face, and I thought it was super funny. Right, I thought it was great. Forrest thought it was funny, too. He was like, check mark. But for some, it was gory, right? So in the end, I had to blur out a couple of the screenshots. And I know it sounds stupid because it's like, oh, it's a video game. But it looked so frickin' real that it was kind of weird. It was around his eye and stuff. It was all very gory. So there's some questions there, right? Of how far that goes or how far that needs to go. But we're going to have all those abilities. And right now, it's a big deal for wrapping up on Squadron because, of course, there's humans and there's combat.
