So is that going to lead to things like diminished fire rate, inaccurate firing, misfires, that kind of stuff?
TL;DRMisfires are planned in minor, major and critical levels, appearing only once durability drops below a threshold, while accuracy loss is possible but design is still early.
Yeah, so misfires will definitely be a thing. If we use weapons as an example again, it's the easiest one. We're currently doing three categories of misfires: minor, major and critical. A minor one would be a dry fire, a major one would be it jammed and you need to clear it, and then the critical one would be the weapon breaks: it blows up in your hands, it falls apart. And that one you would expect to occur when the HP has become low as well, because when you do encounter a misfire, it does tick away the weapon's HP as well. Loss of accuracy, that could be a thing. It's still early in the design, so we've still got a million and one ideas. But of course, so long as you keep your weapon in good condition, you won't encounter misfires. They only begin to occur once your durability has dropped to a certain threshold. So if you're prepared and you keep yourself in good condition, then you won't have to worry about them.
