Where do we use the character customizer? Is it strictly outside the 'verse, or will there be things like barber shops or salons in major landing zones?
TL;DRFor now the full customizer is only available outside the game world, but the hope is to later add in-game machines in landing zones where players can pay to remake their character.
So for this iteration of the character, it's obviously a full character customizer, so you wouldn't go to the barber and go like, oh, I want a new nose as well, right? So this is going to be a thing. In the future, we're hopefully going to get Calliope machines, as they are known, as these character customizers in the verse. So you'll be able to go to landing zones and find your Calliope machine there, pay a fee for getting your new look, as it were, and you'll have just the full deal, like everything that you see in the character customizer, you can change your character to be that.
Okay, so on the front end and then eventually with these machines that are scattered throughout the verse.
Yeah, and obviously right now we do get the possibility to change your character. Every time you log into the game, you can go into character customization, and that's going to be true for the foreseeable future. But down the line, it's going to be more: you make your character, that's who you are, and then you can go to the Calliope machines in game to remake it.
That makes perfect sense, right? I mean, if you're playing a roleplay game, you shouldn't be committed to just the style that you selected on the first day that you created your character. The next day you might be a miner and in two weeks you might be a captain in an admiral ship or something and you want your character to change and to do stuff to it. So obviously it's important that we get this ability to change your character as we go, not just at the beginning of your game, right?
