Will we ever be able to just bust out a multi-tool and actually physically repair our ships?

Yeah. That's always been the plan. A combination of the multi-tool having a sort of repair thing, and physically going and getting sub-items or entire replacement items in there, just to sort of top up the gaps. It's a combination of all those things. Maybe it's not the multi-tool, maybe it'll be a specific repair tool. But there's that, there's swapping sub-items, swapping the whole items.
