How is rearming out in the field supposed to work? If we land our fighter in a Polaris, for instance, how do we restock?
TL;DRBallistic ammo can be restocked by buying ammunition containers that refill a landed ship's ammo pool, including from containers stored in a bigger ship, and ammo sizes are to be unified across weapons soon.
So if you run ballistic ammunition, we will allow you to restock the ballistic ammunition. And the way that it will work is you will buy ammunition containers that you will then use to refill the pool of the ship that you landed. Or if you even have a capital ship or a bigger ship, you will be able to put those boxes with the ammunition inside. Right now it's a dedicated slot, but it's subject to change, and then it will basically drag the ammunition out of it and put it into the pool. One change that would come with that, and this is something that is coming sooner rather than later, is we will unify the ammunition size. And that's just for the fact that we don't want to have bespoke ammunition, for example, for your Behring Gatling, but we want you to share the ammunition between different weapons that share the same size of ammunition. For example, a size three Gatling uses the same round size as a size two repeater, and it uses the same size as a size one repeater. So you can plan your loadout accordingly if you just want to buy one type of ammunition for your ship.
