Given that all the alpha slots are gone (they're not all gone, but if they were), will we be able to change pledges without losing our alpha slot?asked by Stealth Guy

I know a lot of folks are concerned about this because they want to upgrade their ships, they want to try out other ships. Once you have an alpha slot on your account, it's there for good. So you can upgrade, you can sidegrade, whatever kind of grade you want.

So the alpha slot is not attached to the package or the ship. It's attached to the account.

Yeah, it'll be with your account forever.
