Sarah McCulloch · Concept Artist, Foundry 42Yes, lure them in and trap them.
Dan Trufin · Lead Systems Designer, Foundry 42 FrankfurtSo I see this working very well, where you would basically waste their time and they would give up at some point. It depends on how we configure our AI. Let's say they have to do three searches in three random spots. If two of those searches happen to be a decoy, as in you take a crate of bananas, potatoes are exhausted now, so you take a crate of bananas, put one of these decoys inside, and it looks like you have something there. If they waste time there, they probably won't bother to finish the rest of the ship, and they'll go, ah, we give up, we go out. But that will be costly. You will have to purchase one of these devices. It will probably be a one-use-only device. It won't run forever, so that you can use it every time you get an inspection. So you will have to put it there before you get an inspection, so you might use it and you don't get an inspection, and you wasted the device. So there will be risk-reward. We always want to introduce this risk-reward thing. I know you guys like to get something for free, but it's always a lot more enticing if you might lose it. Then it's like, do I get it? Do I not get it? Do I get caught? Do I not get caught? So there needs to be a risk.
