You keep switching between flying around in free fly and another mode. What is this mode that you're transitioning into?

TL;DRA hotkey spawns a playable character in the editor to quickly check interactions and how characters, and therefore NPCs, look under the lighting; the nauseating effect is thought to be a bug.

We have a little hotkey, Ctrl+G, that spawns you a character and just gives you the interactions that you'd expect to have as a character. So it's just a quick way to verify how this interaction feels and how these characters are receiving light in these spaces. There are other ways that we can look at that. We have a client that we can run where you can actually have your own version of a server on your PC and do the whole process, spawn in a hab, move around, visit the entire PU. But this is just a quick way of doing it in the editor for these smaller spaces. And it looks a bit nauseating when you go, whoa.

I'm not sure what that nauseousness is when you jump into game mode. I think it's some bug which will no doubt be fixed. But as Zach was saying, the benefit of being able to jump in game like this is that we're trying to make the environment look good, but in the actual game itself, there's a lot of characters running around. And so we also have to verify that the player character looks good. And by doing that, we also make sure that any other NPCs or AI can theoretically also look their best under the same lighting circumstances. So that's something we're always keeping in mind when we light environments.
