When we started kicking this around, we started comparing it to a fan favorite ship from Aegis known as the Idris. Should Idris owners be afraid? Should they just melt their Idris and go right to a Kraken, or are Idrises going to be able to hold their own against something like this? How do these two compare?

Like everything, there's swings and roundabouts. The Idris has got much more armor. It's got the capacity. It's a military ship, so its components are better out of the box. Drake's stuff is a bit paper thin in terms of survivability. So the Kraken has all these ships it can help it with. But you need to have someone to do all that stuff with it.

And when it flies, the ships are exposed on top, whereas the Idris can carry fewer ships, of course, but they're protected inside its belly.

Yeah. And the Idris-M's out there, nothing's going to mess with that railgun. But this doesn't have anything comparable to that.
