Why does seating matter if you can just stand up in the ship?

So long term, we want to have the g-force actually applied to people inside the ship. So if your pilot does a hard turn, you are going to start staggering around. So for ships like this, you're probably not going to be a smooth ride, a smooth, gentle descent down to the planet. You're going to be coming in hot, people are going to be shooting you, your pilots are going to be doing maneuvers. You want to be locked into that seat, so you're not thrown around. You're trying to pick up your gun out of the other thing and it's throwing you everywhere.
