Can you talk to us a little bit about what your inspirations were for that track [the 300 series commercial]?
TL;DRThe commercial's track was originally meant to be a Fly Me to the Moon style piece, so he wrote an original bossa nova that had to sync with the visuals, which he found challenging.
So first, the track was supposed to be a Fly Me to the Moon kind of thing, but then we couldn't. So what I did, I had to recreate something that sounded like a bossa nova, naturally like a standard. But the lyrics were done by Mike Inchela. And it was really fun. But it was a not very easy process. Another thing is the music not only had to sound like a natural bossa nova song, it also had to sync with the visuals. So that was hard because when there was an explosion, the music had to make a break and the lyrics had to go with it. And when it comes to the moment with the open shot through the city, the music had to go down and feel relaxed. It still sounds like a song that was pre-made, but it was made after, for the picture, so very challenging. Not easy at all.
