John Crewe · Vehicle DirectorPrimarily, it's a big visual upgrade compared to the Mark Is, but there are so many Mark Is out in people's accounts. It's one of the most iconic Star Citizen ships. We don't want them to just suddenly, one day, boof, all disappear, and then you've all got this new other ship that you perhaps didn't want 10 years ago. It's the same with the Mark I Hornets. We didn't get rid of them and replace everybody's with Mark IIs. Both can coexist.
Ben Curtis · Vehicle Art DirectorYeah, and as one of our iconic starships, it's getting its gold standard to bring it up to what we want that experience to be. And then the Mark II gives us an opportunity to update its visuals to a point that, like I say, it's like the new generation of RSI. So it gives us the option to do both: making the originals function and play how we want, and also doing a full visual overhaul as well. And there'll be people out there who will be like, don't like it, I want to keep the Mark I. And there are people out there who will be like, the Mark I's not for me, I love the Mark II. And that's a good thing: more options.
