When the conversations started about Lorville being our first fully fleshed-out landing zone in the Persistent Universe, how involved were you in figuring out the scale and the scope of what that would entail?

TL;DRLorville concepts existed from pre-production for some time, with scale and scope drawing on lore team text, and a short lore paragraph inspired Ian Leyland to want to build the location.

So it happened some time ago. It was what we call pre-production; usually that can be visual development through concept art on a very loose design brief. So we've had concepts for areas of Lorville for some time, and we've just been waiting to really get our teeth into it. Before then, obviously, we were scaling up between doing things like outposts or space stations. Grim HEX is in the game, Levski is in the game. The next one we were going to tackle was Lorville. So visual direction wise, it's been around for a while. So when we started that process, there were always a few lines from the lore team that really stood out. Having just even a paragraph, I think even before I started working at CIG, I think there was a paragraph, it must have been from Dave, just one paragraph. And just from reading that, I wanted to make that location. I can't even remember what it was now. It described a backwater landing zone with some dude who worked there, didn't like his job. But something as simple as a few lines of text can inspire so much. So from the lore side of things, we had quite a lot to go on.
