Why are there often trains between the habs and our spaceships? I find it quite tedious and would love to have a landing zone where I wake up next to a hangar.

How can you not like trains? Trains are great.

They're saying, have you considered just putting an apartment complex right off of a hangar, so it's right there?

Yeah, the apartments that you have your pod in are probably always going to be in the city center or other parts, not directly next to the airport, or spaceport in this case. What we could foresee is the option to maybe rent something like a hotel that's closer to the spaceport for convenience. I think permanent habitation is always going to be part of the city, but there may be some compromises with temporary housing that could be made.
