Can we have damaged and non-functional components on our ship?

That's actually probably a better question for more details for Matt, but I know that we are planning on doing damage for components and all that kind of stuff. You probably won't see that the first time you see components rolling out in the hangar and the first release of all the new stuff we're going to do for you guys, but that is something we're going to be doing.

You actually saw it during the multi-crew demo when the Retaliator's quantum drive component became damaged, and we hadn't implemented the ability to repair it yet. So, yes. Damaged components is very real. And it works.
