Will we need "space forklifts" to transport cargo from an Orion to a Freelancer or any other ship? Will we be able to fly crates over manually, or do we need to land on a station or planet to move cargo from one ship to another?

TL;DRLanding isn't needed to move cargo between ships; the plan is to move it by EVA with tools like a cargo jack, which can bundle multiple items per trip.

So we've talked about this when I was working on the Caterpillar, actually. So we have multiple variations, but we want to do some stuff over EVA. So basically, a module would open up, and ideally what we would want to have is a person would be able to just put it on a little pallet jack, the cargo jack things you had talked about before. So you'd be able to grab that and then EVA over with that and then put it into the hold and then just EVA back to your ship. So basically you can do it in gravity, you can do it in no gravity.

Yeah, you don't need to land to do these things. You can be EVA, you can be using tools. We also have things that will allow you to sort of bundle objects together, like the cargo jack and other devices, which will allow you to move them all together at once so that you don't have to make 30 trips for 30 separate boxes. You can just put them all in the same thing.

One trip, guys. It's like groceries.
