Open your sack [of sonic delights] for me. [What do you want to bring to the game?]

TL;DRSimon Gershon wants a cinematic, immersive sound where ships rock and vibrate, including something beyond Atmos, but he avoids rash promises and won't detail the systems being developed.

What do you want to know? What do I want to offer the game? Well, we're going to be immersive at some point, so we will be going much more immersive. So what does that mean to the player? I know it's a very overused word. We're going cinematic because that's what I was brought on to do. So every environment you're in, you're going to feel like you're in the environment. I don't want to go into the nitty gritty details about what systems we're developing with Star Audio or any other systems I would like to bring to the game. But fundamentally, I want this to sound as good as it can be. I don't want to make rash promises like the best game ever. Perhaps let's try and make it the second best and then people will remember that, and then we could go to the first best a little bit later on down the line. But you're going to feel like you're actually in something. Now, one of the biggest experiences... Am I ranting already? Everyone wants to be in a spaceship, and when you're in a spaceship, you want to feel like you're in a spaceship. I want to make things rock and vibrate and I want you to feel moved.

Atmos?

Simon GershonAudio Director, Star Citizen

Yeah, Atmos and a little bit more than Atmos.

A little bit more than Atmos?

Simon GershonAudio Director, Star Citizen

Yeah, Atmos Plus. Don't ask me what that is just now. I'm not changing Dolby. Don't worry about that, Dolby, if you're listening.
