Is there an update for Orgs 2.0?
TL;DROrgs 2.0 is a full redo of the communications platform (chat, forums, community hub) being built by Turbulent; it is approved and budgeted, with no timeline given.
I don't think we're exactly ready to talk about it, but there are some really cool things happening.
Basically, Orgs 2.0 is more than Orgs 2.0. It's an update to our entire platform. It's an update to our entire communication platform. We wanted to do all these cool things for orgs. And then when we got talking about, hey, we're going to do this and orgs should be able to do this and orgs should be able to do this, we're like, well, yeah, we want to do that on the whole website, not just in the org section. So Orgs 2.0 is a full-on, blown-out redo of our entire communications platform. Our chat system, our forum system, community hub. It'll even hit Issue Council a little bit. It is a top-to-bottom redress of our entire communications platform created by our guys at Turbulent. No more repurposing Vanilla for our forums. No more repurposing XMPP for our chat. It is a bespoke solution for Star Citizen. And if we get half the stuff that Turbulent's talking about, we'll have more than any game has ever provided their people.
It's one of the things I'm most looking forward to right now.
So it'll be very cool. So it's approved, it's budgeted, they're building it now. Like anything else, how long does it take to build something you've never built before?
