What are the trade-offs? Why would somebody not want an Ironclad?

Mattia MonticelliSenior Vehicle Game Designer

Well, clearly one of the trade-offs, as we mentioned, is the maneuverability. It's not a very maneuverable ship. It's somewhat of a brick, most of you might say. So this is probably one of the main drawbacks of the ship, which for a cargo ship can be quite severe, because whenever you enter maybe a dangerous area or you get attacked by pirates, clearly you maybe want that maneuverability and speed to get yourself out of it, since you cannot outmaneuver those bad guys.

I suppose that's where that increased durability [comes in].

Yeah, exactly. Also, clearly the components and the shields are quite beefy as well, because they are size 3. So you have capabilities to defend yourself and to let your turret gunners try to defend you as well. But clearly you cannot escape that easily. So you have to deal with it and somewhat fight.
