Can AI interact with more than one player at the same time?

TL;DRYes, AI perceives all nearby players at once and its behavior picks which one to target, with queries like closest enemy or enemy with the most dangerous weapon.

That is just based on the behavior. Basically the AI perceives everything around; it perceives one, two, three, four players. What the behavior wants to do is what will drive it. So imagine I have two players, I want to speak a bit with you, a bit with the other guy. Well, my perception, my knowledge of you guys, is always active. Then I can say, oh, now I'm talking to Brian, and then I will use you as a target. And basically using you as a target just means, on the behavior side, storing you inside a specific variable that I reference. And then when I want to interact with the other character, I will just do the other one. So there are different query mechanics to interact with the player. So you can say, give me the enemy that is closest. Or we will have things like, give me the enemy with the most dangerous weapon. And then you can select these types of things. But in the meantime, your perception is always active. You get more targets, you get more friendly guys or enemy guys, and then you can decide what to do with those.
